a very rare visitor

This is a grey woodpecker. It is almost extinct in central Europe and the overwhelming majority of people have no clue that it exists at all and certainly have not seen one.

This looks like in Canada. Actually it is within walking distance from my home in Bavaria, Germany. The conifers are Scots pines and Europen spruce.

new macro lens

I got the 60/2.8 macro lens of Nikon yesterday. Here are my first tries with flowers. I am VERY happy. These are Hepatica in my garden. Very early this year.
