Christmas walk to Thanning, Bavaria

This is a picturesque village within walking distance from my home. the oldest record of it is the year 804, but his is only the date that it was mentioned in a document. It is several thousand years old with celtic remnants everywhere. Anyway, today it is a rural community with some nice flair. the tree are all European oak, Quercus robur.

As most people we visited our folks back home in Absam, Tirol, Austria. my mother lives there. Unavoidable is the yearly pilgrimage to the famous baroque church of Absam.

It's this time of the year again when the Christmas markets open in many places. Close to my home is one of the nicest ones in Bad Toelz, Bavaria. This year we had spring like tempratures and no snow at all.
